Essentially, this is a course to teach translation into Italian in a wide range of subject areas (not exclusively literary). It combines many hours of practical translation lessons with lessons on Italian literature, comparative literature, CAT tools, aesthetics, international law, and so on.
Students are obliged to do a work experience in translation, which usually involves working in a translation agency or translating for online magazines. They also have to produce a final thesis, usually a long translation of a literary nature, a novel or play or film script. They also have to show an ability to analyse the work they have done.
