Special Field Translation French-Finnish, Literary Translation, 5 ECTS. OBJECTIVES: Upon completion of this course, students have familiarised themselves with the special characteristics of literary translation and are able to consider what translation of literary text entails. Students are able to assess other people’s translations and their own work. CONTENTS: Special characteristics of the genre of the work being translated, translation of a literary text and assessment of translation solutions. Seminars (56 hrs) and independent translation (74 hrs). Organised every other year.
